If you're a first-time patient with Mobile Hearing Solutions, you'll need to give us some information about your background, a quick medical history and the nature of your hearing condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.
We will fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. This will go in your patient file for referral and update as needed.
During our first consultation, you'll describe your current hearing condition and what situation makes you feel that you have hearing loss. We'll discuss with you what potential treatment options may be available to you if we determine your loss can be corrected. We'll discuss with you what financial options or insurance coverage may be available to you.
In order to pinpoint the problem, we'll ask you a number of questions related to your hearing condition. We'll examine your ears for possible causes of hearing loss and to rule out conditions that may be medically treated.
A variety of audiometric tests will be performed to determine the full extent of your loss and how you understand sound and speech. We'll determine which frequencies are heard correctly and which frequencies can be aided for enhanced hearing and speech discrimination.
We analyse the test results and determine what course of action or treatment is necessary. If certain conditions are detected. your specific condition may require a referral to your physician. If you have atypical hearing loss, as found in most patients, we'll determine the severity level and which frequencies are affected. We can then structure the most effective treatment plan for you and make recommendations of proper hearing instruments to improve your hearing and speech understanding.
Patients will generally have several options of instrument types based on their particular need. We'll discuss the costs associated with each type of instrument and what financial or insurance options may be available. If an in-the-ear device is selected, an ear canal impression will be made at this time.
Since each person's hearing loss is specific, a customized instrument must be built. Before we leave, we'll complete an order form for the specific hearing devices required that will be sent overnight to the manufacturer.
The hearing instrument manufacturer will build your devices based on the audiometric test results that we obtain. The instruments will be shipped as soon as they are complete. This process is typically less than one week from order to receipt.
Upon receipt of your hearing instruments, we'll contact you for a follow-up session. We'll bring your devices and "fit" them to you for comfort and proper sound levels. We'll make several final adjustments in programming while you wear your new devices.
Programability allows us to meet your specifc hearing condition by "tuning" the device for optimal performance. Once levels are adjusted to your hearing need, we'll instruct you on how to use the instruments properly.
We then make an appointment to return in about a week to check the fit and make programming changes if needed. Should you have a need for future changes, we're only a phone call away. Adjustments to your hearing instruments are happily made at no charge for the life of your devices.
We provide the best, name brand, digital products from Siemens, Starkey and Phonak. All styles and powers are available to fit your specific need..
